  Center for Disability Studies Minimize
The Center for Disability Studies and Community Inclusion is the home for most of the USC UCEDD's work to promote the full inclusion and participation of individuals with developmental disabilities in community life across the lifespan. The work of the Center for Disability Studies is driven by the philosophy of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, which articulates the rights of people with developmental disabilities to fully participate in community life, and the right to self-determination, independence, and productivity.

Vision
Californians with developmental disabilities will participate freely in activities and communities of their choice throughout their lives.

Mission
To serve as a recognized academic leader in developing and assuring access to quality services and systems, which support safe communities where people with developmental disabilities are fully included and participate in every aspect of community life, including but not limited to education, recreation, healthcare, employment, housing, spiritual life, transportation, mental healthcare, criminal justice.

Core Values
The people we serve:

- are safe from exploitation, abuse and neglect
- have meaningful relationships
- help shape their communities
- have a key leadership role in systems design and policymaking

  DD Act Partners Minimize
Protection and Advocacy, Inc (PAI) is a nonprofit agency that works in partnership with people with disabilities to protect, advocate, and advance their human legal and service rights. PAI began protecting the rights of Californians with disabilities in 1978.


The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD)
is a federally-funded independent state agency established in federal and state law to assist in planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Federal law requires the Council to identify ways to improve and increase services for individuals and their families, and to submit these to the federal government in the form of a State Plan.

The Tarjan Center of UCLA is the other UCEDD in the State of California.
The mission of the Tarjan Center is to provide leadership in education, research and innovative practices that supports the quality of life and community inclusion of all people with disabilities.
